A speaker is located at the left side of a closed end tube. A movable plunger is located within the tube to close the right end at different tube lengths. A microphone listens to sound level directly in front of the speaker. Start the 2000Hz (2kHz) sound source and drag the position of the plunger within the tube to create different closed end tube lengths. The sound you hear is what the microphone is picking up. Listen for the plunger positions that produce the loudest sounds indicating standing wave resonance modes.
